Echinops spinosissimus

Echinops spinosissimus is a perennial herbaceous plant growing to 80 cm height. It is a spiny species with branched and hairy stem. The leaves are sessile, alternate and covered with white short hair. The greenish-blue inflorescence is spherical and contains many white to blue flowers. The fruit is an achene with stiff hairs.
