Salvia verbenaca, commonly known as wild clary or wild sage, is an aromatic perennial herb which is native to the Mediterranean climate regions. The hairy, erect stems hold ovate leaves with toothed, pinnate or lobed edges. These leaves are topped with spikes of purple to violet hermaphrodite flowers. The fruit is an achene splits into four one-seeded segments.
