Parodia ottonis, commonly known as Indian head cactus, is a perennial member of the Cactaceae family. It has a globose to cylindrical stem with 6 to 16 straight ribs. These are covered with some circular areoles holding 1 to 4 long central spines and 4 to 15 radial spines. This cactus produces yellow, funnel-shaped flowers and ovoid fruits containing numerous black seeds.
