Typha angustifolia

Lesser bulrush, narrow leaf cattail or lesser reedmace is a perennial aquatic plant having as a scientific name Typha angustifolia. The stem is unbranched and can reach 3 m height. It is characterized by wide leaves which have flat rolled blade. The inflorescence is a dense cylindrical spike that consists of an upper male brownish part and a lower female brown part. Hairy achenes are produced and release seeds in contact of water.
